At the Montgomery Township’s Trunk or Treat Event, 1403 presents a candy-dispensing, Frankenstein-themed robot to over 100 people. Every time a child stepped near the robot, they would press a button that opened Frankenstein’s mouth to display a basket of candy. 1403 members built and programmed the robot. They also supervised the event. One moment stood out in particular. A little girl, dressed in a princess dress, hesitantly approached the robot. As the mouth opened, a giant smile came over her face when she realized the candy inside was Skittles. One of our team members knelt down beside her, and explained the mechanisms to her. To improve, our mechanical members hope to make the robot more extravagant by adding halloween decorations on the robot.
